Job Description:

We are looking to hire an experienced Full Stack Developer and Technologist to join our team, part of the Citi’s Markets Risk & Control Technology Group, working on a Trade Surveillance platform used across multiple businesses within our Institutional Clients Group. With a broad knowledge of different web programming languages, patterns and architecture designs, you will take on a hands-on role in developing and leading the web layer for the platform. You will work with the other developers, business analysts and product managers as your key stakeholders to ensure we are meeting their requirements to develop and drive highly interactive User Interface. You will also contribute to the team’s strategy around development and deployment best practices.

Job Responsibility:

conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to solve complex problems and issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
operate with a limited level of direct supervision
act as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members
appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Requirements:

5+ years of Java development experience with strong object-oriented principles and practices
extensive experience in the analysis, design, development, support of distributed applications
microservices experience with Java 8+
experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud (Micro Services), Spring IOC/MVC/Security/Data JPA, JUnit
strong knowledge on Core Java, Java Collection, Java Generics, Java Concurrency and building thread safe code
experience with containerization related management stacks like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, ECS is a plus
strong knowledge on Maven, Jenkins, TeamCity, GIT, Bitbucket and other toolchain and CI/CD tools
hands on experience with MongoDB
well versed with engineering best practices
experience with Confluent Kafka
experience working in a highly automated development environment
ability to work as a hands-on contributor (>80%) on a global team of software engineers
