Job Description

Join a well-established, custom home builder based in West Palm Beach and play a key role in managing the financial health of a growing, high-end construction business. As the Construction Bookkeeper, you will oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely billing, and smooth coordination across projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Oversee contract billing and time & materials invoicing
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare financial statements and internal reports in accordance with accounting standards
  • Process payroll for employees and subcontractors
  • Handle monthly client billing and maintain organized financial records
  • Track budgets, cost codes, and manage notices to owners
  • Utilize construction accounting software to streamline financial operations

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, ideally within the construction or home building industry
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and job costing
  • Experience with construction accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, preferably in a construction company
  • Proficiency in Sage 100 or Master Builder construction software
  • Experience with AIA billing and handling AIA documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively within the team
