We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee the financial operations of a nonprofit foster and adoption agency in Rochester, New York. This long-term contract position requires a highly organized individual with a strong background in payroll, billing, and financial record management.
Job Responsibility:
Process payroll with accuracy and ensure timely payment for employees
Manage foster parent payments, maintaining detailed and organized tracking records
Handle billing, invoicing, and deposits while ensuring proper documentation
Monitor and track expenses to maintain well-organized financial records
Utilize QuickBooks to update and maintain accurate financial data
Collaborate with an external accounting firm for weekly reconciliations and month-end reporting
Support administrative accounting tasks, including insurance portals and contract management
Ensure all financial information is precise, up-to-date, and accessible for reporting purposes
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or full charge bookkeeping
Demonstrated experience in payroll processing
Proficiency in using QuickBooks for financial management
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage a high volume of payments and tracking responsibilities
Prior experience in nonprofit accounting is a plus
Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Knowledge of bank reconciliations and financial reporting
