Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage the complete financial operations of a multi-entity organization based in Syracuse, New York. This contract-to-permanent position requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle diverse accounting tasks, ensure compliance, and provide accurate financial reporting to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing day-to-day bookkeeping with strategic financial management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee and manage daily bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
  • Execute the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end close procedures, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Prepare accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis
  • Track income and expenses across multiple entities or cost centers to ensure precise financial management
  • Maintain records related to tax filings, insurance, and financing obligations to support compliance
  • Implement and optimize accounting systems and workflows, such as QuickBooks, to improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with external accounting or tax partners to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to financial regulations
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure tracking for organizational planning
  • Supervise or provide guidance to entry-level accounting or administrative staff as necessary
  • Work with internal teams to enhance financial processes and strengthen internal controls

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 3 years in a full-charge or senior role
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing and related tax filings
  • Experience managing multi-entity accounting and financial reporting standards
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams

Bookkeeping or accounting certifications are preferred but not required
