We are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage the complete financial operations of a multi-entity organization based in Syracuse, New York. This contract-to-permanent position requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle diverse accounting tasks, ensure compliance, and provide accurate financial reporting to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing day-to-day bookkeeping with strategic financial management.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage daily bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
Execute the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end close procedures, reconciliations, and journal entries
Prepare accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis
Track income and expenses across multiple entities or cost centers to ensure precise financial management
Maintain records related to tax filings, insurance, and financing obligations to support compliance
Implement and optimize accounting systems and workflows, such as QuickBooks, to improve efficiency
Collaborate with external accounting or tax partners to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to financial regulations
Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure tracking for organizational planning
Supervise or provide guidance to entry-level accounting or administrative staff as necessary
Work with internal teams to enhance financial processes and strengthen internal controls
Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 3 years in a full-charge or senior role
Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of payroll processing and related tax filings
Experience managing multi-entity accounting and financial reporting standards
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
Bookkeeping or accounting certifications are preferred but not required
