We are looking for a skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our client in Concord, California. This contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to manage a wide range of accounting and administrative tasks for a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting, along with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review financial statements and balance sheets using integrated accounting software systems
Handle accounts payable processes, including three-way matching, purchase order management, and job costing
Perform accounts receivable support tasks as needed, including invoicing and collections
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and create journal entries for primary accounts
Manage certified payroll reporting and workers’ compensation reports using Excel, with training provided for certified payroll if necessary
Oversee month-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data
Administer HR-related responsibilities, such as onboarding and offboarding employees, facilitating training sessions, and managing benefits
Collaborate with part-time staff handling payroll and accounts receivable to ensure seamless operations
Utilize accounting systems such as SquareCoil, Sage, and Business Works to maintain accurate financial records
Support organizational compliance with union reporting requirements and other regulatory obligations
Requirements:
Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Sage and SquareCoil
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis
Solid understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Experience managing full charge bookkeeping tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations
Knowledge of payroll processing and reporting, with the ability to learn certified payroll procedures
Familiarity with month-end close processes and HR administration
Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle diverse responsibilities effectively
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members and support staff
