We are looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to support a small law office on a part-time basis. This position oversees day-to-day financial activity, helping maintain accurate records across billing, payables, receivables, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, handles sensitive financial information with discretion, and brings strong bookkeeping experience in a services environment.
Job Responsibility
Record and classify financial activity on a consistent basis to keep the firm’s books current and accurate
Oversee outgoing payments by processing vendor bills, employee reimbursements, and routine check disbursements
Support incoming revenue processes by entering client billing details, applying payments, and monitoring unpaid balances
Maintain precise ledger activity for trust-related transactions when client funds are involved
Complete regular reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other firm financial accounts to ensure accuracy
Produce weekly and monthly financial summaries for review and decision-making
Assist with financial planning activities by tracking cash flow, monitoring spending, and supporting budget awareness
Work with the firm’s external accounting partner to help prepare information needed for quarterly and year-end reporting
Preserve well-organized financial documentation across both electronic files and physical records
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping with hands-on responsibility for general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, whether using the online or desktop version
Familiarity with legal accounting platforms such as Clio Manage, Tabs3, or similar law firm financial systems
Understanding of trust accounting practices and compliance requirements in environments that manage client funds
High level of accuracy in data entry, account balancing, and financial record maintenance
Ability to manage responsibilities independently and stay organized with limited day-to-day oversight
Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential financial and client-related information
