Job Description

Robert Half is working with a client in need of a full charge bookkeeper. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in dynamic environments, bringing a proactive approach to bookkeeping tasks. They possess excellent problem-solving skills and are adept at managing financial data with accuracy and confidentiality, contributing to the success of the organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes and prepare financial reports for management
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Monitor budgets and maintain records of fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and accruals
  • Prepare and file tax forms, including payroll tax reporting and sales tax filings
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain records for audits, assist with external auditors, and ensure data integrity
  • Handle general ledger functions and maintain chart of accounts for financial reporting accuracy
  • Forecast cash flows and manage cash disbursements

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role, with 3-5 years minimum experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or other financial tools
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and tax laws is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus but not required if equivalent experience exists
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors, clients, and internal team members
