Job Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper for a company in San Diego, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who can oversee the full cycle of bookkeeping functions, maintain accurate financial records, and support daily accounting operations. The right candidate will be hands-on, organized, and comfortable managing multiple accounting responsibilities independently.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
  • Maintain and balance the general ledger
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Process invoices, payments, and collections in a timely manner
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor accounts
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Prepare financial statements and other internal reports
  • Monitor cash flow and help track budgets and expenses
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls
  • Work with external accountants during audits and tax preparation

Requirements

  • 3+ years of full charge bookkeeping or related accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Experience preparing financial statements and supporting month-end close
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred

Nice to have

  • Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar ERP systems
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping, payroll administration, and related accounting operations
