Accounting work is estimated at ~10 hours per week but may fluctuate throughout the year; Overtime may be required at times; After spring break, the intent is to continue the engagement as contract-to-hire
Job Responsibility:
Perform bank and cash account reconciliations
Review accounts and resolve discrepancies
Handle AP and AR, including coding expenses correctly and paying bills
Enter journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records
Take over billing and reconciliation from external vendors and service providers
Manage rentals, including preparing invoices, tracking deposits, and ensuring insurance documentation is received
Collect and record merchandise and supplies received
Assist with budgeting for supplies, including tracking what the school pays for vs. what parents pay for
Help manage and monitor class fee schedules
Assist with basic analysis work as needed (revenue and payroll related)
Anticipate expenses and support financial planning activities
Order supplies and calculate associated costs
Ensure vendor compliance
Approximately 1 hour per week assisting with coordination of school trips and other administrative tasks
Assist with onboarding and basic HR functions depending on time of year
Role may evolve to include additional HR support over time
There will be some catch-up work initially
Work during spring break to handle daily and monthly tasks and help clean up easier items
Requirements:
Must be comfortable working in a school environment and not opposed to being around children
Must be organized
Must be detail-oriented
Must be able to multitask
Must be willing to question what they see from an accounting perspective
