Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations for a growing organization in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can manage the full bookkeeping cycle with accuracy, strong judgment, and a hands-on approach. The right candidate will bring deep experience across payables, receivables, payroll, and reconciliations while helping maintain reliable financial records and reporting.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee complete bookkeeping activities, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and maintained in an organized manner
  • Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and manage check runs to keep accounts payable current and compliant
  • Monitor incoming payments, issue customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding balances to support healthy accounts receivable activity
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other balance sheet items to confirm the accuracy of financial records
  • Administer full-cycle payroll, including timely processing, deduction tracking, and payroll record maintenance
  • Manage electronic billing procedures and coordinate invoice distribution to customers through appropriate systems
  • Maintain accounting records in QuickBooks and generate routine financial information for internal review
  • Assist with month-end close tasks by reviewing transactions, resolving discrepancies, and preparing supporting documentation

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience performing full charge bookkeeping duties in a detail-focused business environment
  • Strong hands-on background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and full-cycle payroll processing
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence working within accounting software on a daily basis
  • Demonstrated experience completing bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and payment processing activities
  • Ability to manage electronic billing, check runs, and detailed financial records with a high level of accuracy
  • Solid understanding of general bookkeeping principles and day-to-day accounting controls
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
