We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations for a growing organization in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can manage the full bookkeeping cycle with accuracy, strong judgment, and a hands-on approach. The right candidate will bring deep experience across payables, receivables, payroll, and reconciliations while helping maintain reliable financial records and reporting.
Job Responsibility
Oversee complete bookkeeping activities, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and maintained in an organized manner
Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and manage check runs to keep accounts payable current and compliant
Monitor incoming payments, issue customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding balances to support healthy accounts receivable activity
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other balance sheet items to confirm the accuracy of financial records
Administer full-cycle payroll, including timely processing, deduction tracking, and payroll record maintenance
Manage electronic billing procedures and coordinate invoice distribution to customers through appropriate systems
Maintain accounting records in QuickBooks and generate routine financial information for internal review
Assist with month-end close tasks by reviewing transactions, resolving discrepancies, and preparing supporting documentation
Requirements
10+ years of experience performing full charge bookkeeping duties in a detail-focused business environment
Strong hands-on background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and full-cycle payroll processing
Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence working within accounting software on a daily basis
Demonstrated experience completing bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and payment processing activities
Ability to manage electronic billing, check runs, and detailed financial records with a high level of accuracy
Solid understanding of general bookkeeping principles and day-to-day accounting controls
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
