We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our client in Providence, Rhode Island. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, financial reporting, and payroll processing. The ideal candidate will excel in QuickBooks and possess the organizational skills necessary to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Job Responsibility:
Accurately record, categorize, and post financial transactions by analyzing account information
Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies
Manage payroll processes and assist in preparing payroll tax filings for review
Handle the preparation of sales and meals tax returns for both businesses and individuals
Generate and distribute 1099 forms in compliance with regulations
Conduct bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
Apply knowledge of double-entry accounting concepts to ensure proper financial recording
Collaborate with team members to address variances and inconsistencies in financial data
Maintain organized records and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines
Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and Online platforms to manage accounting processes efficiently
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-charge bookkeeping
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Online
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
Solid understanding of profit and loss statements and balance sheets
Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations
Experience in preparing tax filings, such as payroll tax, sales tax, and meals tax
Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
