We are looking for a skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is a Contract to permanent position offering an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to a nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop.
Job Responsibility:
Perform daily cash reconciliations for multiple accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Monitor the operating account on a daily basis to maintain financial oversight
Manage monthly billing processes, including follow-ups to ensure timely payments
Handle tuition billing and ensure accurate record-keeping for all accounts
Prepare journal entries and oversee the process of cutting and running checks
Provide support to the controller in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Collaborate with team members to resolve accounting discrepancies and issues as they arise
Assist with additional bookkeeping tasks to support the organization's financial operations
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in full charge bookkeeping
Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is required
Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices is essential
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
Problem-solving abilities to address accounting discrepancies and challenges
Supportive nature with a collaborative approach to teamwork
Solid understanding of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger processes
