We are looking for a skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this long-term contract role, you will manage comprehensive financial operations for a nonprofit organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in bookkeeping, payroll support, and donor record management, while contributing to the organization’s mission-driven environment.
Job Responsibility:
Record and manage all income, rental transactions, and credit card activities using QuickBooks Online
Process vendor payments and maintain detailed donor records to ensure accuracy and transparency
Prepare weekly offering entries and allocate grant funds appropriately based on restrictions
Retrieve and document payroll journals from Paychex, assisting with annual payroll updates and adjustments
Verify and process weekly deposits, donor entries, and invoices for approval through the finance inbox
Reconcile credit card statements monthly and generate rental invoices promptly
Create detailed financial reports each month and participate in Finance Committee meetings
Prepare annual donor giving statements and ensure compliance with document retention policies
Update payroll and benefits records annually, including support for 1099 preparation
Maintain organizational integrity by adhering to ethical financial practices and confidentiality requirements
Requirements:
Associate degree in Accounting or a related field
a Bachelor’s degree is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, with nonprofit or church-related experience being a plus
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Paychex, and donor management systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially
Availability to work part-time and attend weekly and monthly meetings as required
Capability to work for extended periods at a computer and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
