We are looking for a highly skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper to join a reputable non-profit organization in Port Huron, Michigan. This long-term contract position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing diverse accounting tasks independently. Job Responsibility

  • Oversee and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform detailed bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial records are complete and aligned
  • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain precise and up-to-date accounting records
  • Compile and analyze financial statements, providing insights into the organization's fiscal health
  • Execute month-end close procedures, ensuring all transactions are documented and finalized
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain accuracy across financial reporting

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and the ability to navigate its features independently
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Proven experience in preparing financial statements and conducting month-end closures
  • Expertise in bank and account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and record management
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices relevant to the role
