A premier construction development company in Victoria, BC is looking for an experienced, highly organized Full-Charge Bookkeeper / Office Manager to join their dynamic team!

Job Responsibility

  • Manage daily full-cycle accounting activities and accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR) to ensure all financial records align with GAAP standards
  • Perform accurate monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
  • Process regular payroll, calculate and remit source deductions accurately, and prepare necessary year-end documents for the external accountant
  • Manage reporting and compliance with WorkSafeBC, ensuring correct classifications and timely submissions
  • Act as a professional liaison, handling daily email and phone communication with sub-contractors, homeowners, vendors, and external partners
  • Deliver administrative assistance to leadership and managers on ad-hoc projects as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of proven full-cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Experience navigating BC employment standards and WorkSafeBC regulations is highly desirable
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or equivalent field experience
  • Advanced hands-on proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop preferred) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data management)
  • Strong overall capability with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • A rock-solid, foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proven ability to structure, prioritize, and self-manage a heavy workload independently with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
