Job Description:

The Aviation Fuelling Operator (AO) is responsible for carrying out the day to day operational tasks safely, effectively and efficiently. The AO receives fuel into storage, looks after the day to day storage and handling procedures, loads refuelling vehicles and refuels aircraft.

Job Responsibility:

  • Must be HSSE minded and work safely at all times
  • Must be fully conversant and comply with all Company and Legislated HSE requirements which apply to the Airfield Operation
  • Must strictly adhere to the PUMA Rules for Operators
  • Must report all unsafe acts and conditions and near misses to his / her Supervisor at all times
  • Must acknowledge that Working Safely is a condition of Employment
  • Perform tasks critical to the Quality Assurance System
  • Checking the documentation on incoming consignments
  • Visual inspection and control checks on incoming material
  • Discharge into storage
  • Release of product into Fuellers and Hydrants
  • Sampling of aviation products
  • Maintaining records of stock/quality/equipment checks
  • Completing documentation of the various tasks performed and recording results
  • Performing card and cash transactions
  • Capturing sales transactions on a computer
  • Presenting himself and PUMA appropriately
  • Carrying out the day to day operational tasks safely, effectively and efficiently

Requirements:

  • Senior school leaving certificate demonstrating a recognized pass
  • Heavy Duty Licence applicable to the vehicles that he/she will be required to drive
  • Work experience in a technical field including on airport work is an added advantage
  • Aircraft refuelling skills are not freely available in the market therefore the individual will be trained for a minimum period of 6 months before being certified as competent
  • HSE minded
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, safety standards, operating procedures and regulations would be an advantage
  • Local Language and Good English communication skills
  • Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Must pay attention to detail and quality

Nice to have:

  • Work experience in a technical field including on airport work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, safety standards, operating procedures and regulations

  • Abstracts and collates information from offshore locations and ports on behalf of Qatar Armed Forces aircraft/vessels, including producing daily status reports for the military and organization of fuelling, landing, routing through rig protected zones and ports, and using that knowledge to conduct critical safety deconfliction for military assets with QP/JV’s own logistics assets, based upon an assessment of the operational information provided from the military against the scheduled movements of the day
  • Acts as ‘Super-User’ for the bespoke cloud-based logistics IT systems which are national systems critical to daily management of offshore platforms. Receives calls from users and fixes any technical issues encountered, or grants new access to the system upon confirming approval with the companies authorized signatory
