Job Description

The Fuel Pricing Analyst will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical pricing recommendations to the Operations teams through data analytics and modelling. In addition, the Fuel Analyst will have responsibilities for analyzing and identifying key promotional drivers. The individual must possess a high degree of aptitude for data analytics along with the ability to differentiate between short and long-term planning relative to fuel margins and pricing.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in development of site level fuel margin and volume objectives, implement site level pricing strategies
  • Conduct semi-annual site level reviews to measure actual financial objective to budget
  • Provide analytical data through available databases as requested
  • Perform analysis as necessary on available fuels and marketing data to determine competitive market conditions and optimum fuel strategy
  • Prepare margin and volume forecast each period to assist in financial budgeting and earning forecast
  • Conduct compliance rides to assess price strategy compliance and identify site attributes
  • Review and adjust site level pricing to meet volume and margin budget objectives
  • Maintain and update databases, which provide pricing and site level information essential for daily pricing decisions and analytical analysis of market elasticity
  • Perform statistical analysis of market data as necessary to provide executive management with industrial and market demands on regional and national fuel trends
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding supply management, pricing, and record keeping for all fuels, ethanol, and additive handling
  • Perform site rides in assigned area as needed to identify local market trends and site attributes that may assist in strategy alteration
  • Conduct compliance audits on assigned areas to maintain performance metric with pricing strategies at site level
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Requirements

  • 2 year degree preferred, and/or 1-3 years business or analytical experience preferred
  • Must be computer literate in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple activities, and strong detail orientation
  • Must be able to follow state, federal and company guidelines
  • Must be able to maintain a positive team attitude and professional demeanor at all times
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
