Job Description:

Reporting to the Regional Programme & Resource Manager, the successful applicant will be joining an experienced and enthusiastic team. Liaising with our Surfacing Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring all items of Plant have sufficient fuel to carry out their requirements. Successful candidates will be responsible for logging all fuel deliveries to each individual items of Plant as well as delivering Ad Blue and various store items to our squads on site across Scotland. Breedon carry out surfacing in a wide range of sectors including major infrastructure for highways, housing, industrial and environmental.

Job Responsibility:

  • Effectively liaise with internal staff & external stakeholders
  • Accurate recording, organisation and storage of goods, deliveries to site and returning from site to the stores
  • Accurate despatching of goods to site when required
  • Regular review of goods stored for stock check
  • Accepting deliveries of site consumables and ensuring stock levels are maintained
  • Manage and maintain equipment within the stores
  • Maintaining a high level of tidiness in the stores
  • Delivery / collection of consumables and equipment to and from site
  • Ensuring maintenance and appearance of delivery vehicle is kept to a high standard
  • Carry out daily checks and maintain equipment / plant
  • Carry out work in accordance with company Health and Safety rules
  • Ensure staff within the stores are wearing the relevant PPE and have been inducted
  • Assisting the Plant Maintenance Technician when required

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Computer Literate
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Mobility, flexibility and commitment
  • Relevant experience in managing a stores environment
  • Awareness and ability to implement Health, Safety and Environmental legislation

  • Responsible for collaborating with the Plant Superintendent or Supervisor and Boiler Operator in ensure accurate operation and maintenance of the fuel handling systems, in accordance with plant procedures, guidelines, and rules. This work includes driving the loaders, knowledge and maintenance of entire conveyor belt and fuel systems – including fuel storage buildings and truck dump systems
  • Responsible for working with the Plant Superintendent or Supervisor to ensure that preventative and predictive maintenance program is established for fuel handling equipment including the loader
  • Responsible for cleaning areas assigned by the Plant Superintendent or Supervisor
  • Responsible for knowing the operation and pile management of the entire fuel handling system, fuel uploading and loading operation along with working with the Boiler Operator and knowing and taking the corrective action to ensure a dependable supply of fuel at all times, by operating a John Deere 624H
  • Responsible for knowing the operation of the fuel handling inventory tracking, weighing, and control system
  • Responsible for operation of the loader, bulldozer and bobcat as needed for fuel yard operations, plant operations and maintenance activities. Perform necessary tasks for the removal of ash. Required to work a varied schedule including week-ends and overtime and to be on call as needed, as deemed necessary by Supervisor
  • Required to provide relief and support in other job classifications including but not limited to Maintenance or Operations
  • Responsible for performing assigned maintenance tasks as directed by the Unit Supervisor or Production Support Supervisor
  • Responsible for operating the fuel handling inventory tracking, weighing, and control system as directed by the Boiler Operator
  • Coordinates with the Plant Superintendent or Supervisor to schedule delivery of fuel to maintain an adequate inventory of fuel for plant operation
