Job Description:

Verkada is the leading cloud-managed physical security platform, uniting hardware, software, and AI to deliver enterprise-scale security and insights. At the core of our mission is real-time intelligence, providing organizations with critical information to respond swiftly and stay safe. The Events & Notifications team is the central nervous system of the Verkada platform. We own the full-stack infrastructure that processes, enriches, and delivers real-time events and alerts from our network of over millions of Verkada devices. We take on complex challenges to ensure that every critical event—from motion detection to door access—is delivered with unmatched speed, reliability, and precision. By continually advancing our technology, we ensure that our customers are instantly and securely notified of what matters most, exactly when it happens. As a Frontend Engineer (Events & Notifications), your work will directly shape how we present millions of alerts to users. You'll own the web frontend experience for all events and notifications, designing intuitive interfaces for a high volume of time-sensitive data. By bringing intelligence into the alert response, you'll help ship features that enable smart, automated actions and streamlined security workflows.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build scalable systems that deliver our event and notification experience to the end user, including alert creation and management
  • Create state of the art alert response workflow that prioritizes privacy while protecting people and properties
  • Comfortable leading whole projects from design to implementation with high degree of ownership
  • Work on cross-product functionality to enhance Verkada ecosystem

Requirements:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, or similar technical field of study
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a frontend/full stack engineer
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React
  • Solid understanding of web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, DOM APIs, browser performance, accessibility)
  • Experience building reusable components, utilizing CSS pre-processors and building pixel perfect user interfaces
  • Experience with state management tools (Redux, MobX, etc.) and asynchronous programming
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week
What we offer:
  • Healthcare programs that can be tailored to meet the personal health and financial well-being needs - Premiums are 100% covered for the employee under at least one plan and 80% for family premiums under all plans
  • Nationwide medical, vision and dental coverage
  • Health Saving Account (HSA) with annual employer contributions and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) with tax saving options
  • Expanded mental health support
  • Paid parental leave policy & fertility benefits
  • Time off to relax and recharge through our paid holidays, firmwide extended holidays, flexible PTO and personal sick time
  • Professional development stipend
  • Fertility Stipend
  • Wellness/fitness benefits
  • Healthy lunches provided daily
  • Commuter benefits
