The Front Office Representative will greet patients and provide the highest quality customer service. They may perform a variety of front office tasks including check-in and check-out, answering phones, scheduling, and filing. Instill the IMS mission, vision and values in the work performed.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinates and manages physician clinic schedules
Welcomes patients as they contact the office either personally or by telephone, and explains the services available, payment categories, and billing procedures
Manages check-in and check-out functions. Verifies demographics of new patients and scanning insurance cards for the medical file
Schedule prep day before verifying insurance/outstanding liabilities/medical record/informing patients of copay and deductibles
Check patients in and out
Schedules for appointments/tests/procedures. Directs walk-in patients and emergencies as per established policies and procedures
Answer all incoming calls and route them to the appropriate staff, relay telephone messages
Collects co-pays. Reviews and verifies patient coverage of insurance or other agencies and computes the charges to be paid by patient
Maintain and keep an updated scanning/filing system
Have an understanding of insurance referral processes
Ability to multi-task and execute delegated duties
Requirements:
At least 1 year of customer service skills and experience
Ability to communicate, ability to take initiative, work well with an established team
Excellent organizational skills
Attention to detail
Computer skills using Microsoft software, scheduling software, and email applications
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
Must be able to multitask several phone lines
High School Diploma or equivalent
Nice to have:
Previous experience with Athena system a plus
Bilingual Preferred
