Job Description:

Department head position responsible for all front office functions and staff at The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai. Directs and works with managers and employees to successfully execute all front office operations, including guest arrival and departure procedures. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department.

Job Responsibility:

  • Direct all front office functions and staff including Bell Staff, Switchboard Operations, Guest Services/Front Desk and Retail/Gift Shop
  • Execute all front office operations including guest arrival and departure procedures
  • Improve guest and employee satisfaction
  • Maximize financial performance of department
  • Lead, influence and encourage team members
  • Supervise and manage employees
  • Establish and maintain open collaborative relationships with employees
  • Ensure recognition of employees
  • Communicate performance expectations
  • Manage day-to-day operations ensuring quality standards
  • Develop goals and plans to prioritize work
  • Conduct department meetings
  • Review staffing levels
  • Manage department controllable expenses
  • Ensure compliance with Front Office policies and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Handle guest problems and complaints
  • Manage human resource activities including hiring, performance management, and employee development

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in guest services, front desk, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with 2 years experience in guest services, front desk, or related professional area
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others
  • Ability to demonstrate honesty/integrity and lead by example
  • Understanding of financial/business decision making
  • Supervisory and management experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with employees
  • Knowledge of performance management and employee development
