Front Line Manager (FLM) – Packing / Slicing. Long Clawson Dairy (Clawson Farms). Based: Long Clawson (LE14 4PJ). Salary: c£36,000 per annum + Great Benefits. We are now seeking an FLM (Front Line Manager) in our Packing team, to join the Clawson family situated in the picturesque village of Long Clawson, just 6 miles from Melton Mowbray.
Job Responsibility
You will be responsible for the total shift management of your area, ensuring team leaders, colleagues and activities within the department are managed effectively and efficiently and carry out their allocated duties to the correct standard/specification and efficiencies
You will ensure the total department meets all its shift targets set
Respectfully challenge personnel and process inefficiencies
Ensure close integration with engineering staff to maximise efficiencies
Develop and nurture an ethos of continuous improvement within the workforce, challenge others where appropriate
Ensure the control, plan and mobilisation of employees across all production/packing areas
Ensure the daily start-up Safety checks are maintained and accurate where applicable
Ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), where appropriate
Responsible for ensuring that everyone complies with our Health and Safety ethos
Responsible for the effective running of the department, ensuring communication between functions and department areas is effective
Be responsible for and ensure Product quality is maintained in accordance with quality standards
Manage staff morale and seek to resolve ad hoc staffing issues
Ensure the Team Leaders prepare the department, equipment, and staff, to be ready and available in advance, for the start of each shift and all associated change overs
Responsible for overseeing performance against operational objectives, for team members
Ensure that the department complies with Clawson standards as well as local standards, Health & safety requirements, policies, and applicable laws
Responsible for ensuring all data information is accurate and completed on time
Involve the team in the achievement of set targets and work towards reducing wage costs, improving waste management
Requirements
Previous and demonstrable management experience within a manufacturing industry
Excellent people management and communication skills
Current Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (to be achieved within 12 months)
Self-motivated and able to motivate others
Good level of numeracy & literacy in order to carry out area reporting activities and produce written daily production requirements
Good IT skills including Excel and Word
Must be able to prioritise tasks and deadlines
Must be able to work on own initiative
Ambitious, driven and passionate about making improvements which lead to visible financial results and increase factory control and ownership
Adaptable/flexible to meet requirements and demands of production and seasonal fluctuations
