We are looking for an experienced Front Desk Receptionist to support daily office operations for a healthcare organization in Merrillville, Indiana. This Contract to permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming experience for patients and visitors while keeping front office activity organized and efficient. The person in this role will serve as a key point of contact, manage incoming communication, and help ensure administrative tasks are handled accurately and effectively.
Job Responsibility:
Welcome patients, visitors, and staff with a courteous and attentive approach while maintaining an organized front desk area
Manage a multi-line phone system, direct calls to the appropriate departments, and respond to general inquiries in a timely manner
Coordinate patient check-in and front office workflow to support smooth daily operations
Verify insurance information and confirm coverage details to help maintain accurate patient records
Handle inbound calls effectively, provide clear information, and escalate concerns when needed
Maintain scheduling and administrative documentation with close attention to accuracy and confidentiality
Support general clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and record updates for the front desk
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in a front desk, receptionist, or customer-facing administrative role
Prior experience working with a multi-line phone system in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage inbound calls efficiently while delivering strong customer service
Experience completing insurance verification tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a detail-oriented approach
Comfortable handling sensitive information with discretion in a healthcare setting
Proficiency with basic office software and standard administrative procedures
