The Front Desk Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front desk, ensuring exceptional guest service, smooth check-in/check-out processes, and efficient communication between guests and hotel departments. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage a team of front desk agents, resolve guest concerns, and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, all while optimizing operational performance and maintaining the hotel’s standards of excellence.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and supervise the front desk team
Recruit, train, and onboard new employees
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations
Develop and manage the front desk schedule
Ensure all guests receive exceptional service
Handle guest complaints and feedback
Collaborate with other hotel departments
Oversee VIP guest services
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the front desk
Ensure front desk procedures are followed accurately
Coordinate with tour directors, housekeeping and maintenance
Manage room inventory
Oversee guest billing and payment processes
Ensure proper usage and operation of the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS)
Monitor front desk cash handling procedures
Continuously train front desk staff
Hold regular team meetings
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports
Track and report guest satisfaction metrics
Assist with department budget planning, cost control, and staffing levels.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a front desk or guest services role
At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management position in a hotel or hospitality environment
Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) and reservation systems is preferred
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other hotel management software
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to sit at a desk or workstation for extended hours
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Nice to have:
Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in hospitality field preferred
A strong knowledge of personal computers is essential
Three years in hospitality services or like environment performing like duties as an Assistant Front Office Manager
