We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to support daily front-office operations for a healthcare facility in Santa Cruz, California. This is an onsite Contract position lasting 2 months, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced patient-facing setting and can manage multiple priorities with accuracy and care. The role requires strong organizational ability, bilingual communication skills, and confidence using standard office software while delivering a welcoming experience for patients and visitors.
Job Responsibility:
Welcome patients and visitors, provide front-desk support, and create a courteous and efficient check-in experience
Handle incoming calls, route messages appropriately, and respond to routine questions in both English and another language as needed
Maintain patient-facing administrative workflows by organizing records and coordinating document handling between office areas
Manage appointment-related communication, update basic information, and support daily scheduling needs based on clinic activity
Use Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe tools to complete clerical tasks and maintain accurate documentation
Keep the reception area and related administrative materials orderly so information can be accessed quickly and efficiently
Balance several responsibilities at once while staying attentive to patient needs, office priorities, and changing coverage demands
Collaborate with staff across the clinic and business office to support smooth day-to-day operations and timely information flow
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in a receptionist, medical front-desk, hospitality, or high-volume customer service environment
Bilingual communication skills are required, with the ability to assist patients clearly and effectively
High school diploma required
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage records, tasks, and competing priorities accurately
Ability to multitask effectively in an onsite healthcare setting with frequent interruptions and changing activity levels
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
familiarity with Adobe is also needed
Detail-oriented presentation and dependable attendance, with the ability to work onsite in Santa Cruz, California
Comfortable working in business casual attire or scrubs, depending on office expectations
