We are looking for a detail-oriented Front Desk Coordinator to support daily reception operations for a higher education environment in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This Contract position serves as a key point of contact for students, families, visitors, and staff, helping create a welcoming and organized front office experience. The ideal candidate is attentive, courteous, and comfortable managing visitor access, incoming communications, and administrative support tasks throughout the day.
Job Responsibility
Welcome parents, guests, and campus visitors with a friendly and courteous approach while providing clear assistance upon arrival
Manage building entry by responding to visitor requests and authorizing access through the front entrance security system
Operate the parking gate intercom, confirm entry needs, and guide incoming visitors to the appropriate location
Receive packages and deliveries, ensuring items are handled promptly and routed to the correct department or recipient
Sort and distribute incoming mail accurately to support smooth daily office operations
Maintain an orderly reception area and support front office organization throughout the workday
Answer incoming calls and general inquiries, directing questions to the appropriate staff members when needed
Requirements
Experience providing front desk, reception, or administrative support in a detail-oriented setting
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact courteously with parents, visitors, and staff
Ability to manage a multi-line phone system and respond to intercom requests efficiently
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for routine administrative tasks
Solid data entry and file organization skills with strong attention to detail
Effective interpersonal and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle deliveries, mail distribution, and visitor coordination with accuracy and courtesy
