This role is ideal for a specialist who can deliver the French curriculum with both academic rigour and creative energy, ensuring students from KS3 through to GCSE (and potentially A-Level) develop a deep appreciation for the language.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver high-energy lessons balancing Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing
integrate French culture, history, and current affairs into the curriculum
lead Year 11 groups through AQA/Edexcel GCSE specifications focusing on exam technique, high-level vocabulary acquisition, and spontaneous speaking skills
utilise interactive technology and authentic French resources
conduct regular assessments and provide precise feedback to identify attainment gaps and implement linguistic interventions
work within a vibrant MFL faculty to share resources and contribute to development of innovative schemes of work
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS (mandatory)
degree in French or a related discipline
near-native fluency in French (oral and written)
proactive approach to behaviour management
ability to thrive in a high-attaining academic environment
enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to process a new one via Randstad)
