This is a full-time, long-term position for a dedicated Teacher of French to join a high-performing faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to Post-16 education. This role is not just about vocabulary and grammar; it is about fostering a leadership mindset, encouraging students to become confident, articulate, and culturally aware citizens.
Job Responsibility:
Lesson Delivery: Plan and deliver well-structured, inspiring French lessons that meet the needs of all learners
Assessment: Regularly assess student work and maintain accurate records of progress and achievement
Leadership Integration: Incorporate the school's leadership specialism into the MFL curriculum
Environment: Create a stimulating and organised classroom environment that celebrates student success
Reporting: Provide high-quality reports and feedback to parents, students, and senior leadership
Extracurricular Support: Contribute to the wider school life, including language clubs or cultural trips
Professional Development: Participate in the "Star Talent Academy" hub and attend regular INSET sessions
Behaviour Management: Uphold the school's behaviour policy with a positive and proactive approach
Pastoral Care: Act as a form tutor, supporting the social and emotional well-being of a group of students
Departmental Contribution: Attend faculty meetings and contribute to the development of MFL resources
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Excellent command of both written and spoken French (near-native proficiency)
Eligibility to work in the UK
