Job Description

Our Toowoomba depot is seeking a freight operator (shunter) to join their team. Please be aware the training will consist of classroom-based training with additional on the job training to ensure you become a safe operator in the yard.

Job Responsibility

  • Shunting and yard duties (including cleaning)
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service

Requirements

  • Superior teamwork skills
  • Commitment to undertake additional training as required
  • Able to work outside for long durations of time
  • Ability to meet CAT 1 Rail Medical Assessment and other pre - offer checks
  • Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster
  • Current unrestricted Class C drivers’ licence
