We are looking for a passionate Sports Content Writer with solid expertise in sports and sports betting to join our German-speaking content team. In this role, you’ll create engaging, high-quality, and SEO-optimized content with a newsroom mindset — producing timely stories, analysis pieces, and betting insights that resonate with our audience.

Job Responsibility

  • Research and write engaging, accurate, and SEO-optimized sports and sports betting content
  • Produce news articles, previews, analysis pieces, and guides across multiple sports
  • Maintain a newsroom-style workflow, producing timely and topical betting stories
  • Collaborate with content quality specialists to uphold WIS’s editorial standards
  • Review, update, and optimize existing content to keep it fresh, relevant, and competitive
  • Use SEO and content tools to improve content quality and performance

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in sports or sports betting content writing
  • Native German speaker with strong English communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of multiple sports, such as MMA, NFL, F1, tennis, basketball, and football
  • Understanding of sports betting markets, odds, and strategies
  • Proven ability to produce news-style, analytical, and long-form content
  • SEO expertise and familiarity with content optimization best practices

Nice to have

  • Experience using WordPress or similar CMS tools is a plus
  • Background in sports journalism or experience as a sports betting journalist is highly valued

  • Work with the Deputy Editor to establish an overall editorial voice and tone for NFL content, especially as it pertains to editorial franchises and tentpole content
