A major European telecommunications group is establishing a new technology hub in Budapest to deliver engineering excellence, on-site support, and knowledge exchange across its European programmes. As Scrum Master / Delivery Manager, you will be the driving force behind agile delivery within this hub — keeping cross-functional engineering teams aligned, unblocked, and consistently shipping in a mission-critical telco environment. This is a hands-on delivery role: you will own the rhythm of the team, protect the process, and act as a bridge between technical teams and stakeholders.
Job Responsibility
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews
Own the delivery cadence and ensure teams are consistently hitting sprint goals
Identify, track, and remove blockers that slow engineering progress
Act as the interface between product owners, architects, developers, and DevOps teams
Drive continuous improvement across delivery processes and team ways of working
Manage dependencies across workstreams and escalate risks where necessary
Support onboarding and knowledge exchange within the new Budapest hub
Maintain transparency across delivery status, risks, and milestones for senior stakeholders
Coach teams on agile best practices — Scrum and Kanban
Contribute to the wider agile maturity of the organisation
Requirements
Proven experience as a Scrum Master and/or Delivery Manager in enterprise tech environments
Strong facilitation and coaching skills — able to run ceremonies and drive team accountability
Experience managing delivery across cross-functional teams including developers, architects, and DevOps
Solid understanding of Java-based microservice development environments — you don't need to code but you need to speak the language
Familiarity with modern tooling: Jira, Confluence, GitLab or equivalent
Experience working in agile Scrum and/or Kanban environments
