Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Freelance RFP Proposal Writer to support our business development team during peak bidding cycles. You will act as a plug-and-play expert, taking ownership of the narrative for upcoming Requests for Proposals (RFPs), RFQs, and Grant applications. This is an ideal role for a seasoned writer who enjoys the fast-paced "sprint" of a proposal deadline and can deliver polished, compliant results with minimal oversight.

Job Responsibility:

  • Proposal Drafting: Rapidly produce clear, persuasive, and technically accurate responses to RFP requirements
  • SME Interviews: Interview internal subject matter experts to extract technical details and translate them into benefit-driven client language
  • Editing & Proofreading: Ensure a "one-voice" tone across documents that may have multiple contributors, maintaining strict adherence to brand guidelines
  • Compliance Matrixing: Review RFP instructions to ensure every question is answered and all mandatory attachments/formatting rules are met
  • Content Refresh: (Optional/If applicable) Help update our internal "gold-standard" content library based on the latest successful bids

Requirements:

  • Proven Track Record: A portfolio of successful bids
  • Self-Sufficiency: Ability to manage your own workflow and meet rigid submission deadlines without hand-holding
  • Tool Proficiency: Expert skills in MS Word (styles, tables, and version control). Experience with proposal tools like Loopio, RFPIO, or Qvidian is a major plus
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify "win themes" and integrate them throughout the proposal
