Job Description:

A respected, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is seeking a Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join their Stockport office on a part-time basis, working 2-3 days per week. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor with a strong consultancy background to support a busy and growing cost management team. The successful Freelance Quantity Surveyor will be working within a consultancy environment, delivering professional cost advice across a range of sectors including commercial and industrial (sheds/warehousing). This role is well suited to a Freelance Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable managing multiple projects and engaging directly with clients. As a Freelance Quantity Surveyor, you will provide full pre- and post-contract services in line with consultancy best practice. The Freelance Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining strong client relationships.

Job Responsibility:

  • Preparing detailed cost plans and feasibility estimates
  • Managing tender processes and procurement strategies
  • Producing valuations, cost reports and final accounts
  • Providing professional advice to clients and stakeholders
  • Supporting contract administration duties

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Freelance Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy environment
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
