Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Product Development professional with a background in apparel design and development. This role focuses on helping with the end-to-end development process- from trend research and costing to final delivery — ensuring timelines, price/value alignment, and quality standards are met. Role is 4 days onsite and 1 day remote in their midtown office in NYC. Will be working on womens, mens and kids apparel for their private label brands. Someone with strong Excel and retail math skills. Hourly pay rate approximately $40-45 an hour based on experience. Need someone for 3 months to start with the hope to extend.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with sourcing and product development from concept through shipment
  • Support analysis of fashion trends to help evolve and enhance the product assortment
  • Help monitor milestone calendars and flag potential issues to ensure deadlines are met
  • Assist in reviewing CADs, samples, and prototypes for design integrity, fit, and quality
  • Support evaluation of samples for aesthetics, fit, and quality
  • assist with cost engineering
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners—merchants, vendors, and technical teams—to develop trend-right assortments at the right price/value and ensure timely delivery
  • Perform data entry and maintain accuracy in the Product Development Tracker (PD Tracker)
  • Provide accurate data for purchase orders and help maintain workflow efficiency

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in apparel product development
  • Strong understanding of production processes, garment construction, and FIT protocols
  • Familiarity with cost negotiation and vendor communication
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel emphasis)
