BSBI’s Faculty of Creative Industries is expanding its pool of freelance lecturers and industry professionals to deliver practice-oriented teaching in creative disciplines. We are seeking experienced freelancers who are actively working in the creative industries and are able to teach, mentor, and guide students through applied, project-based learning in the following areas: Game Design, Animation, Visual Communication, User Experience (UX/UI), Graphic Design. This role is ideal for professionals who wish to combine industry practice with academic teaching, without long-term employment obligations.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver lectures, workshops, and practical sessions at undergraduate and postgraduate level
Teach industry-relevant tools, workflows, and methodologies
Facilitate studio-based learning, critiques, and project reviews
Guide students through hands-on assignments, case studies, and real-world briefs
Deliver teaching based on existing module descriptors and learning outcomes
Adapt teaching materials to reflect current industry practices and trends
Contribute examples from professional practice (projects, pipelines, tools)
Support applied learning aligned with creative industry standards
Provide academic and practical guidance to students
Support students’ professional development and portfolio building
Participate in feedback sessions, critiques, and formative assessments
Assess student work based on predefined assessment criteria
Provide constructive feedback aligned with academic standards
Support moderation and quality assurance processes if required
Requirements:
Proven professional experience in one or more creative industry fields
Ability to teach and communicate concepts clearly in English
Availability for scheduled teaching periods (block teaching or weekly sessions)
Legal right to work as a freelancer in Germany or EU (or ability to invoice internationally)
Strong practical knowledge of relevant industry-standard software
Experience working on real-world projects or commercial creative work
Confidence in teaching applied, hands-on content
Strong communication and presentation skills
Student-centred and practice-oriented teaching approach
Reliability, professionalism, and academic responsibility
Openness to innovation in digital and hybrid learning environments
