Our client, a pharmaceutical advertising agency in NYC, is seeking a senior-level freelance Copy leader (VP, ACD, or GCS) to support a high-profile launch brand for a leading pharmaceutical client. This role will focus on HCP (Healthcare Professional) and Global communications, requiring a strong balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in pharma advertising, thrives in a fast-paced launch environment, and is exceptionally strong in annotation, referencing, and the MLR review process.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and develop HCP-facing promotional content across US and Global initiatives
Create and refine a range of materials, including: Detail Aids, Branded Websites, Implementation Guides, Field Guides (long- and short-form), Campaign Style Guides, Objection Handlers
Partner closely with strategy, medical, and account teams to ensure scientific accuracy and message alignment
Own and execute annotation, referencing, and fact-checking with precision
Navigate and lead content through MLR/legal/regulatory review processes
Contribute to launch planning and messaging development
Ensure consistency across global and US deliverables
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare advertising copywriting
Proven experience at the VP, ACD, or Group Copy Supervisor level
Strong portfolio of HCP work (US and/or Global)
Demonstrated launch experience for pharmaceutical brands
Deep expertise in annotation, referencing, and MLR review processes
Ability to work across both long-form and short-form content
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (medical, legal, regulatory, strategy)
Nice to have:
Cardiology, lipid, or PCSK9 inhibitor experience is a strong plus
