Our client, a leading global communications and PR agency, is seeking a Presentation/Deck Designer for a freelance/contract opportunity supporting high-profile new business pitches. This role focuses on fast-turnaround PowerPoint design for pitch decks across healthcare and brand/consumer categories, including work for pharmacy, pharmaceutical, food delivery, and major food brand clients. Designers will typically apply an established look-and-feel to pitch content and occasionally develop a custom look-and-feel based on brand guidelines. Most design work is concentrated in the final 48 hours before a pitch, so speed, flexibility, and responsiveness are essential. Designers work on a client-issued laptop and collaborate closely with a Pitch Leader, Pitch Coordinator, and Creative Lead throughout each project. This is an ongoing freelance assignment.
Job Responsibility
Apply an established look-and-feel to pitch deck content across a high volume of slides (approximately 20 slides per 8-hour day, with variation based on project needs)
Develop a custom look-and-feel based on brand guidelines and account team direction when required, then refine based on feedback
Work directly within PowerPoint to design and finalize slides for client-facing pitch presentations
Collaborate closely with the Pitch Coordinator, who serves as the primary point of contact for project updates, feedback, and timelines
Incorporate feedback and revisions from the Pitch Leader and Creative Lead efficiently and without attachment to specific design choices
Manage time effectively across multiple concurrent or sequential pitch projects with shifting hours and deadlines
Maintain strong responsiveness via text, call, or messaging throughout the engagement
Work flexibly, including evenings or weekends when needed to meet pitch deadlines, while prioritizing standard business hours when possible
Receive and work exclusively from a client-provided laptop for all design work
Requirements
Expert-level proficiency in PowerPoint specifically (Keynote, Google Slides, or other platforms are not applicable)
Strong layout and visual design skills, with the ability to beautify existing content rather than concept new ideas from scratch
Demonstrated ability to design quickly and accurately under tight, compressed deadlines
Comfort applying a provided look-and-feel as well as developing one from brand guidelines when needed
Strong communication and responsiveness across multiple channels (text, call, messaging)
Flexibility to work nights or weekends as needed, particularly close to pitch deadlines
Openness to iterative feedback and quick turnarounds without being precious about design decisions
Experience with high-volume, fast-paced slide design, ideally in an agency or pitch environment
Portfolio demonstrating strong PowerPoint-specific design and layout work
Comfort receiving and working on a client-issued laptop for the duration of the engagement
