We are looking for a Freelance Creative Project Manager for a top beauty brand in New York, New York! We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Creative Services Project Manager, often referred to as a 'Trafficker,' to be the central orchestrator of our Design Services department. In this crucial role, you will ensure the seamless execution and timely delivery of a diverse range of creative projects, spanning traditional graphic design, dynamic animation, motion graphics, video production, and cutting-edge AI-assisted design initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Project Planning & Scoping: Collaborate with creative leadership, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to clearly define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success metrics
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates
  • Conduct initial project kick-off meetings
  • Workflow & Resource Management (Traffic Control): Serve as the primary traffic controller for all incoming and ongoing creative projects
  • Create, manage, and meticulously maintain project schedules, production calendars, and resource plans
  • Implement and enforce efficient workflows and processes
  • Facilitate daily stand-up and weekly status meetings
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Act as the central point of contact and communication hub between the design team, copywriters, marketing, digital marketing, product teams, and external agencies
  • Provide regular, clear, and concise project status updates to all stakeholders
  • Facilitate effective communication for feedback and approvals
  • Process Optimization & Innovation: Continuously evaluate and refine creative workflow processes, tools, and best practices
  • Identify opportunities to leverage project management software and automation tools
  • Stay abreast of industry trends in project management, creative technologies, and AI-driven creative processes
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Utilize data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Oversee the creative review and approval cycles
  • Manage the collection and organization of all project assets, documentation, and final deliverables
  • Ensure all projects comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Project Management, Design, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of proven experience in a Creative Services Project Management, Traffic Management, or similar operational role within a fast-paced creative department, agency, or marketing environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving diverse creative disciplines, including graphic design, animation, motion graphics, video production, and digital media
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Strong proficiency in industry-standard project management and workflow software (e.g., Wrike, Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Trello)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organization
  • A solid understanding of the creative development process from concept to delivery, with an appreciation for creative output and brand integrity
  • Proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to changing priorities

  • Experience with AI-assisted creative workflows is a significant plus
  • Wrike experience is highly preferred
  • Experience with asset management systems (DAM) is a plus
