Job Description:

Our client is working on a full-time Freelance Associate Technical Accessory Designer role with a top company with a focus on licensed accessories (handbags and SLGs) in NYC. Role is 4 days onsite and 1 remote in their midtown office. I believe it is a combination of design and tech design. Need help for a few months to start, but it could lead to possibly a longer-term role based on the changes with the current team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work directly with Design and cross-functional teams to execute vision while achieving impeccable fit, construction and design aesthetics
  • Partner with creative design team to achieve aesthetic while adhering to a production time and action calendar
  • Collaborate with the Design Director and cross-functional partners to land on appropriate fit and functional intent for each product of handbag and Small Leather Goods design
  • Manage all technical requirements to develop and execute processes from product development to production
  • Create and maintain detailed tech packs including specs, tolerances, grading, detail sketches with construction/stitching and fit evaluation comments
  • Provide technical direction, internally and externally, on corrective actions needed to bring samples to brand fit and styling
  • Measure and evaluate handbags and SLG from proto sample through TOP samples
  • Maintain close partnership with production teams to maintain on-time delivery throughout the pre-production process and proactively monitor seasonal workload

  • Few years experience in handbag design
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, CAD and Mac computers
