Job Description

The Amentum Freedom of information Act (FOIA) Analyst will work at a client site at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA to provide support to government clients on a team of fellow FOIA Analysts. Analysts will conduct FOIA and Privacy Act (PA) reviews for public release or protection.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and review documents in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA)
  • Process and document FOIA and PA requests to an organization's records
  • Interpret regulations, agency enforcement codes, and organizational policy's regarding the release of agency documents
  • Ensure released materials do not contain personal identifiers or directly or indirectly reveal trade secrets and other information exempted under the applicable statuses
  • Review completed requests for appropriateness of materials to be or not to be released
  • Make redactions as needed before release
  • Compose response letters, clarify requests, negotiate additional response time, and make recommendations on fees and fee waivers
  • Coordinate with program offices on conducting searches for responsive documents
  • Negotiate with submitters of records, and with requestors of those records, to clarify requests in order to make release determinations or recommendations and requirements

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in information management or a combination of experience and education
  • Two Years FOIA Experience with the FOIA and PA (to include intake or review)
  • Familiarity with Freedom of Information Act

Nice to have

  • Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and FOIAXpress
  • Possess exceptional leadership and communication skills (both oral and written)
