Job Description

Join Barclays as a Data Scientist, where you'll lead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and operational excellence. In this role, you will apply advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves. These insights will be used within our fraud detection systems to detect and deter fraudsters and in doing so protect our clients. Your expertise will be pivotal to ensuring the ongoing delivery of our analytics optimisation services.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and operational excellence
  • Apply advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves
  • Use insights within fraud detection systems to detect and deter fraudsters
  • Identify, collect, and extract data from various sources
  • Perform data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation
  • Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines
  • Design and conduct statistical and machine learning models
  • Develop and implement predictive models
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to add value from data through Data Science.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in SAS, Python, or similar programming languages
  • Strong knowledge of fraud detection systems
  • Hands-on experience working with large and complex data sets.

Nice to have

  • Background in statistics or mathematics, with fraud experience
  • Familiarity with BB Plc businesses.
