Job Description:

We are seeking a Fraud & Abuse Investigator to join our team on a contract basis. You'll spend most of your time digging into suspicious account activity. This means looking at data, spotting patterns, and piecing together which accounts are connected. You'll take action to suspend accounts when necessary and design new workflows to identify previously known accounts. You'll also track down third-party sites that are reselling our services and take action to get those listings removed. This isn't a role where you follow a rigid script—you'll need to use judgment, ask good questions, and sometimes make calls without perfect information.

Job Responsibility:

  • Investigate networks of potentially fraudulent accounts using internal tools and data analysis
  • Make decisions on account suspensions based on evidence and established guidelines
  • Identify third-party platforms where our services are being resold without authorization, and draft and submit complaints / takedown requests
  • Document investigation methodologies and flag patterns that could inform automated detection systems
  • Contribute to designing workflows and processes to identify previously unknown fraud patterns

Requirements:

  • Experience in trust & safety, fraud investigation, or abuse operations
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort with data analytics, including experience with SQL or other data querying tools
  • Experience working with data warehouses like Redshift, Clickhouse, or Snowflake
  • Ability to make sound judgments with incomplete information
  • Clear written communication skills
  • Comfort with working independently

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with generative AI products
  • Background in submitting platform complaints or legal notices
