It starts with our people—which is why we are seeking a talented Franchise Paralegal to join our team. This role supports attorneys across the Corporate, Finance, and Transactions Groups, assisting with a wide range of franchise-related legal matters, including regulatory compliance, documentation, and client service delivery. Position Overview: The Franchise Paralegal supports attorneys and business teams in all aspects of franchise law compliance, documentation, and operations. This role is responsible for preparing and maintaining franchise disclosure documents (FDDs), managing state registrations and renewals, and assisting with franchise agreements and regulatory compliance. This role supports a high-volume team of attorneys and requires flexibility across all aspects of franchise law, including both transactional and regulatory matters.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare, update, and coordinate annual Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) in compliance with FTC and state regulations
  • Assist with state franchise registrations, renewals, and exemptions
  • Track filing deadlines and ensure ongoing compliance with federal and state franchise laws
  • Maintain compliance calendars and regulatory records
  • Draft, review, and revise franchise agreements, amendments, renewals, and termination documentation
  • Support negotiation and execution of franchise-related agreements
  • Maintain executed contracts and document management systems
  • Provide support for due diligence in franchise sales, transfers, and acquisitions
  • Serve as a point of contact for franchisees regarding compliance documentation
  • Enters time and descriptions into InTapp and release daily

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3–7+ years of experience in franchise law, corporate law, or regulatory compliance
  • Basic knowledge of corporate governance and entity formation processes and procedures required
  • Experience in a law firm or in-house legal department supporting franchising
  • Familiarity with multi-state regulatory filings
  • Corporate Governance and/or M&A experience would be a plus
  • Experience working with external counsel and regulatory agencies
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Requires the ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled and overtime as needed
