As the Personal Care fragrance team, our mission is to elevate consumers’ experiences by delivering delightful fragrances to our consumers. We are also responsible for managing the portfolio as well as regulatory compliance across all markets. The creation of this role will enable the team to keep delivering innovation briefs and regulatory compliance with speed and excellence. The focus of this role is to lead the fragrance work for skin cleansing/deodorant innovation projects and keep the portfolio up to date.
Job Responsibility:
Support and help manage the fragrance development process, as part of a global team
Contribute and prepare fragrance assessments as well as making fragrance recommendations across all project types (innovation, regulatory)
Select & Refine from portfolio for technical & compliance adaptations
Responsible for portfolio management, Competitive Reviews and Contribute to Marketing Analysis
Lead the digital agenda to capitalize and build on our existing body of knowledge
Creating fragrance stories to support fragrances for brand discussion and product launches
Support the fragrance strategy by executing key initiatives
Contribute to global proactive projects, Building & strengthening relationships with global and regional teams, as well as external fragrance houses
Collaborate on technical solutions for fragrance development
Manage regulatory projects across all markets
Build relationships with all key interfaces to enable collaboration across departments
Coordinating and participating in consumer test discussions and interpreting results
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physical science or chemical engineering or equivalent
5+ years of relevant fragrance experience required, with experience in personal care preferred
Ability to prioritize complex workloads, ability to work across multiple time zones and self-motivate
Leadership and good communication are critical
Team player, who enjoys collaboration within the fragrance team and with key interfaces
A keen interest in the science of perfumes is key
You will be a quick learner who is not afraid to take the initiative to get things done
You will have a good sense of smell and understanding of how to classify fragrance hedonics
You will have experience of working with perfume compounds and ideally with perfume raw materials
Experience setting up evaluation experiments + carry through of said experiments with capturing output of data/findings
You will be experienced in working in a laboratory environment with a keen eye for safe and effective procedures
Ideally you will have previous experience working within an FMCG environment or in the Flavours & Fragrances industry
Familiarization with Unilever systems and processes will be an advantage
You will have good computer skills (MS Office, ERP) and an openness to embrace new systems including Unilever specific E-tools
