Fractional Financial Controller | High-Growth SaaS Business | 3 days per week. Harmonic are delighted to be working with a high-growth, PE-backed SaaS business to find them a Fractional Financial Controller to support the business on a part-time basis (3 days per week). The company has built an impressive reputation within its market, delivering innovative technology solutions to a growing customer base across the UK. Following a sustained period of organic growth, the business is now entering an exciting new phase of scaling and is looking to strengthen its finance function with the addition of an experienced and commercially minded finance professional. Despite their continued growth, the business has maintained a collaborative, agile, and fast-paced culture, offering the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a scaling environment. They are now looking for an experienced finance professional who can bring structure, financial oversight, and strategic insight to the business while supporting the leadership team through the next stage of growth. This is a hands-on and commercially focused role requiring a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is comfortable operating across both day-to-day finance and strategic financial planning. As Fractional Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function while partnering closely with senior leadership to improve reporting, strengthen controls, and provide meaningful commercial insight to support decision-making across the business.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts, reporting packs, and financial analysis
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Monitor and manage cashflow forecasting and wider financial performance
  • Track and analyse key SaaS metrics including ARR, MRR, churn, gross margin, and runway
  • Partner with leadership on commercial planning, pricing strategy, and growth forecasting
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Manage payroll processes, including pensions, benefits, and statutory obligations
  • Support board reporting and provide financial insight to senior stakeholders
  • Improve and streamline financial systems, reporting processes, and controls
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and advisors where required
  • Support wider strategic and operational decision-making across the business

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Previous experience within a Finance Manager, Senior Finance Manager, or Financial Controller position
  • Experience working within a high-growth SaaS, technology, or PE-backed business
  • Strong management reporting, forecasting, and commercial finance experience
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial systems experience
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability

Nice to have

  • Exposure to board reporting and investor-facing environments
  • Familiarity with Xero or similar cloud-based finance systems
