Job Description

80Twenty is a specialized staffing and recruiting firm that finds and places exceptional growth talent — the 20% that drives 80% of results. We specialize in Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Customer Success, and Creative roles, connecting scaling companies with exceptional talent and championing every candidate we work with from first call to first day. We're partnering with a celebrated independent creative agency based in New York City to find their next Business Development Manager. Founded nearly 30 years ago and rooted in a Parisian creative sensibility, this agency produces bespoke packaging, branded displays, gifting programs, and premium brand experiences for some of the world's most recognized beauty, food and beverage, and consumer brands. This is a fractional engagement built for a serious hunter who wants meaningful work, real autonomy, and direct upside on what they close. The agency's creative director is exceptional at what he does. What they need now is someone equally exceptional at opening doors and closing — someone who walks in with relationships, knows the beauty and F&B brand landscape, and doesn't need hand-holding to perform. You'll work directly with the creative director and operations lead to drive net new client relationships. No CRM handed to you. No pitch team behind you. Just you, your network, and a strong creative product to sell.

Job Responsibility

  • Identify, pursue, and close net new client relationships in beauty, food and beverage, and premium consumer brand categories
  • Build and manage your own pipeline from outreach through contract signature
  • Represent the agency at industry events and client meetings in New York and beyond
  • Collaborate with the creative director on proposals and pitches
  • Drive consistent new project revenue month over month

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business development or new business sales experience at a creative, branding, packaging, or marketing agency
  • Existing relationships with brand-side decision-makers in beauty, food and beverage, or premium consumer goods
  • Based in New York City
  • A genuine hunter mentality — self-sourced wins, not inherited accounts
  • Comfortable operating autonomously without administrative or pitch support
  • Currently working in a fractional, consulting, or independent capacity — you understand this model and have already proven you can perform without the structure of a full-time role
