Job Description

As our FP&A Strategy Intern, you will be at the heart of SumUp’s decisions about finance and strategy and help shape the firm’s future. There will be no such thing as a typical day as you will deal with various exciting tasks. This role can offer you a diverse learning experience with unlimited growth potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate budget allocation and business plans
  • Examine internal financial data to identify risks and opportunities and provide financial expertise to support managerial decision making
  • Support cross-functional projects to maximise financial performance, such as pricing strategies, revenue optimisation, or cost reduction initiatives
  • Develop business cases to assess the financial viability of projects, including product or market launches, and provide data-driven support for senior leadership reporting and presentations.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and financial metrics to assess performance, while also contributing to the optimization and automation of finance-related processes through the implementation of new methodologies and/or tools.

Requirements

  • You want to learn how to master financial modeling and forecasting techniques
  • You already possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to other members of the organisation
  • You have a master’s degree in a financial discipline or are about to graduate
  • You have prior experience (eg. internships) in financial evaluation and planning, consulting, or fast-paced environments such as venture capital, startups or equivalent
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides ( SAP experience is a plus)
