As Principal Analyst, Drug Substance Finance, you will play a pivotal role in enabling financial clarity and strategic insight across Moderna’s internal manufacturing footprint for Drug Substance operations, overseeing approximately $0.6 billion in associated spend. With deep exposure to internal manufacturing operations and raw materials procurement, this role is central to ensuring fiscal precision, strategic alignment, and continuous improvement in a high-impact biomanufacturing environment. Based in Warsaw and functioning as an individual contributor, you will collaborate closely with the Global Drug Substance Operations team to manage site-level budgets, enhance analytics, and drive financial efficiency. Your work will shape how financial decisions are made at scale, including the costing of new programs, materials, and operational scenarios—all while helping Moderna push the boundaries of digital finance and operational excellence.
Job Responsibility
Leading the development of annual budgets and reforecasting for internal Drug Substance manufacturing operations
Monitoring and controlling budgets, forecasts, and expenditures across multiple DS sites and raw material categories
Driving strategic financial analyses to support operational decision-making using ROI models and data-driven insights
Designing and maintaining intuitive, digitized financial dashboards and datasets that inform the Global Drug Substance Leadership Team
Delivering monthly reporting packages and insights to budget owners and site leadership teams, ensuring visibility of financial performance
Supporting new program costing and scenario modeling related to manufacturing cost drivers and process changes
Managing day-to-day purchase requisition approvals with precision and accountability
Supporting accounting operations with spend-related accruals during month-end close to ensure timely and accurate expenditure recognition
Challenging existing finance processes to improve flow of information and reduce friction, enhancing team-wide effectiveness
Contributing to a continuous improvement culture by proposing and implementing best practices that improve analytical and reporting capabilities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
5+ years of FP&A experience
Life Sciences industry experience preferred
Excellent English skills, both written and verbal
