We are looking for an FP&A Manager to support strategic workforce and operational planning for a Long-term Contract position based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for a finance specialist who combines strong analytical capability with sound business judgment and can translate complex data into practical recommendations for leadership. The position will work closely with operations, technology, and finance partners to improve forecasting accuracy, strengthen capacity planning, and support informed decision-making across the organization.
Job Responsibility
Design and refine workforce planning tools that help leadership evaluate staffing needs, capacity levels, and resource allocation across programs
Develop and maintain staffing and headcount models in partnership with operational leaders to support both established services and new program activity
Track productivity measures and operational trends to guide staffing decisions, balancing resources across teams as business demands shift
Convert projected volumes and performance expectations into practical hiring and redeployment recommendations, outlining timing, risks, and trade-offs
Compare actual results against forecasts, investigate gaps in headcount or productivity, and recommend adjustments to maintain service and efficiency targets
Analyze volume patterns, business drivers, and program changes to improve assumptions and enhance the accuracy of future projections
Present workforce planning findings to senior leaders, clearly summarizing key insights, operational risks, and recommended actions
Incorporate hiring timelines, onboarding progress, and productivity ramp expectations into capacity forecasts while providing updated projections to FP&A partners
Collaborate with operations, technology, and analytics teams to improve reporting, evaluate process enhancements, and measure the impact of changes through dashboards and KPI tracking
Contribute to broader continuous improvement efforts by aligning planning initiatives and analytical projects with organizational priorities
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance support
Strong capability in financial modeling and data analysis, with the ability to turn complex information into actionable business guidance
Proven success partnering across finance, operations, and other functional teams to deliver planning insights and drive decisions
Confidence communicating with senior leadership, including presenting recommendations clearly and defending conclusions with sound judgment
Experience building or managing workforce, capacity, or productivity models that support staffing and resource planning
Strong sense of accountability, urgency, and follow-through, with a consistent record of ownership and high-quality execution
Proficiency in using KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to evaluate trends and identify improvement opportunities
Background in annual budget planning
