We are looking for a highly motivated, analytical, and collaborative FP&A Manager to join our small but agile Finance team at Khan Academy. This role will be instrumental in driving financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes across the organization, with a significant emphasis on grant-funded initiatives to ensure budgets and forecasts reflect funder requirements, program goals, and overall organizational priorities.
Job Responsibility:
Partner with the Philanthropy, Accounting, and Program teams to support the financial management of grants, ensuring budgets and forecasts reflect funder requirements and program goals.
Track and analyze spending and funding progress across grant portfolios, providing insights into budget utilization and financial performance.
Support compliance and reporting needs by providing financial context and analysis for grant-related reporting and audit requests.
Work closely with the Director of FP&A, Philanthropy, and Partnership teams to support revenue forecasting and modeling.
Partner with teams across the organization to support the development, monitoring, and refinement of budgets and forecasts.
Contribute to the preparation of internal reports and presentations for leadership and key stakeholders.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes, including optimizing FP&A systems, data workflows, and process documentation to enhance consistency, transparency, and scalability.
Requirements:

5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related finance roles.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
Experience building and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
Advanced Excel (or Google Sheets) modeling skills and strong systems expertise across FP&A and ERP platforms (example, Workday Adaptive, Sage Intacct, NetSuite).
Experience partnering across functions and communicating financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Strong project management, organization, and communication skills.
Familiarity with GAAP, particularly revenue recognition (ASC 606) and fund accounting principles (ASC 958) as applicable to nonprofit organizations.
